IMO of course. Anyway, I wanted to share with you guys some of the videos that really explain these games well. So here is what I found:

Maybe for you. I admit that there is alot of hype for WAR and AoC, but it sounds more like hot air then anything to really hype. I am anticipating Reqieum Online which has had a really long development time of what will soon be 7 years, and also one of the largest budget. Its an Adult Dark Horror MMO. Here is the only trailers I can find on the game in youtube. It just started testing in Korea and its relatively unknown in the United States.
Requeim Teaser 1
Requeim Teaser 2
For some reason they have only made public an animation from thier alpha engine, but I am sure in Korea there are a few closed beta gameplay movies circulating.
especially with auto attack, theres nothing you can do to prevent getting axed in the face.
Whats wrong with a sci-fi MMO (there isn't enough) that has sandbox qualities?
-Currently looking forward to FFXIV
-Currently playing EvE and Global Agenda
And those teasers for requiem are indeed horrible... Are they supposed to be frightening or spark some kind of intrigue towards the game? The same scream kept being repeated, bad sceneography too boot and it just looked silly.
Those promo's did nothing for me, only disgruntled me from actually having any intrest in the game, why live action teaser for an MMORPG? Easy, due to lack of content, it's asian and will probaly be just grind with a gothic enviroment.
And DFO? Hell yeah, now flame me for breathing too much "vaporfumes" ala DFO.

I'm getting tired of responding to these rascist ass generalizations. How is a live action trailer so different then a CGI trailer? Both of them speak absolutely nothing for what the player will encounter in the game. However, unlike many other companies Gravity has the balls to try something different which they show in the games they develop. The trailers for Ragnarok Online 2 have also been a seperation from the normal trailers we are used to seeing. In a way it targets the action movie fans by creating a trailer similiar to SinCity.
One thing I think many of you seem to blatantly ignore is that a quality game is rare because it takes time and money to develop, When Reqieum Online is released it will have had one of the longest production times and largest budgets of any game. Where as most other Korean MMOs are in production some only 1 year, and a 5 million budget. So you gotta stop stereotyping and actually give games a serious look. It works the same way in the US. Is it proper to say "Warhammer Online is going to be a US crap feast because Blade Mistress sucks"?
However, we probably won't see anything from this game for another year.

Vids showed nothing of the game either, but that;s common for every game around, heh. Also, you are actually saying that just because the game has a huge budger and has been in production for ages it will be good? Sorry, Vanguard on one side called, on the other an oldie Daikatana called.
Now that is just laughable, including Darkfall in that list. Sorry to disappoint but Darkfall will continue to be among the missing when it comes to released games. They have not even announced beta yet, of course since they have announced and postponed it 3 times in the last 5 years, even announcing it does not mean anything.
Even if they do manage to release it, it will be just another very small niche game. To be successful open pvp games need decent rulesets to control the rude pvpers, they have none, hence very very few will play it or play it long.
You should include Pirates of the Burning Sea though, now that game understands pvp. They looked and saw what was successful about Eve and fixed the problems they saw.
Also Tabula Rasa, the king knows MMO's.
So dream on you Darkfall fanboys, because that what Darkfall will always be, a dream and never a reality.
One of these days we will probably see a decent Asian MMO, but the ones mentioned above are known to be big time loser grindfests. All you have to do is look at Cleffy's signature to realize how out of touch all his posts are.
And #2 its not stereotyping because every ASIAN MMOrpg has that darn boring grind that WE DO NOT WANT LIKE OR THINK IS CREATIVE.
Ok that is not true but its generally true and thus this is what we call a GENERALIZATION not a stereotype. On top of that is a correct generalization.
I have no problem with using live action intros, i personally like 2d animation more then cgi anyday for anything... Oh well thats been out moded on almost all new rpg games from japan its very sad for me.. a sore spot).
That being said i think aion has a chance... but we will see.

Darkfall is in beta. Closed beta. Yeah, they have not announced a public beta yet, but a public beta barely tests anything other than population limits. It is all marketing.
To date I have not see 1 mmo that is not a grind. I got bored very fast with most of the quest grinding mmos and today for me it comes down to 1 thing : the best fighting system, community fun and design. For me a good fast paced fighting system where you feel you are hitting something together with a good community is what is the best in today's mmos, and in this aspect some of the asian mmos are excelling.
Really bored of the poor fighting systems of the boring western mmos. Fortunately AoC seems to be bringing something new to the table.
Looking forward for AoC and Aion.
